Development results


Hello, colleagues. There are extreme publications within the jam. The game is coming to an end, I want to summarize my efforts.


About the game

The player will have to play for the forest spirit. It cannot exist by itself, but lives in living nature, namely in trees. The goal of the game will be to revive the centuries-old oaks. And the tasks will be the prosperity of the forest, protection from loggers. The Forest Spirit receives the life force to revive centuries-old oaks from fully mature trees, so planted trees must be protected from felling.

The experience gained

  • During the development, I had to master new tools for myself, namely drawing textures and details of the terrain in runtime.
  • Implemented a new way for myself to move the character, namely movement through nodes.
  • During my work, I created a couple of new ones and updated existing scripts of my own developments.
  • Previously, I studied shaders only as an introduction, but now I have put my knowledge into practice.
  • Well, I repeated the previously studied DOTween.


Development prospects

  • The game has a broad perspective for development. In addition to deciduous trees, coniferous plants could be planted. There could be different types of soil for them so that the projection changes automatically. In addition to trees, add bushes.
  • Plant vines in rocky and vertical surfaces on which the forest spirit can move as on rails.
  • Control can be directed in all 4 directions, not just forward.
  • Add nocturnal plants, animals, birds. In addition to loggers, add hunters and fishermen.
  • A progessi system that unlocks new types of vegetation when reviving a centuries-old oak tree. Ruins of cities where you can plant plants that wrap around the concrete structures of collapsed skyscrapers.
